URBAN HORTICULTURE is the study of the relationship between plants (fruits, vegetables, flowers or ornamental plants) and the urban environment. It is an art, science and application of people and plant interactions resulting in sustainable enrichment and quality of life for individuals, communities and ecosystems in human created environments. It focuses on the functional use of horticulture to maintain and improve the surrounding urban area.
